Privacy Policy

Effective September 8, 2026

Petition helps churches and ministries organize their prayer teams. Prayer is personal, and some of what people share is sensitive. This page explains — in plain language — what information Petition holds, who can see it, and how it's handled.

What we collect

  • About prayer team members: your name, email address, phone number (if your leader added one), which days you pray, and when you mark a prayer as prayed.
  • About leaders and admins: name, email address, and sign-in activity.
  • Prayer requests: the requests your church's leaders enter, including any details they include.
  • We don't collect payment details from members. If a church pays for Petition, billing happens through a payment processor and card numbers don't touch our systems.

Who sees what

  • Your prayer team sees only your church. Petition keeps every church's data separate, and we test those walls against the live system.
  • Sensitive requests stay small. Leaders can mark a request so the team sees only a carefully worded version, sees it without names, or so it goes only to a small trusted circle. The full details stay with the leaders.
  • Members don't have accounts. You receive your prayer list by email (or text, where enabled) with a private link that belongs to you alone. Don't forward it — anyone with the link can see your prayer page and mark prayers.
  • We don't watch you. Member prayer pages contain no advertising trackers or analytics scripts.

Who helps us run Petition

Petition runs on a small set of service providers that store or transmit data on our behalf: Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (application hosting), and Resend (email delivery) — plus Twilio for text messages where texting is enabled, and Stripe for church billing. Each processes data only to provide their service.

How long we keep things, and how to leave

Your information stays as long as you're on your church's prayer team. Ask your leader to remove you — or email us directly — and your personal information is deleted. If your whole church leaves Petition, its data goes with it.

Children

Petition accounts and prayer team membership are for adults. Prayer requests mentioning children come from their own church community and are protected by the same rules above.

Changes and questions

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, church leaders will be told before the change takes effect. Questions or removal requests: tj@kchawaii.org.
